TELINEKATAJA ATTAINS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY LEVEL II
The Zero Accident Forum maintained by the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health has awarded Telinekataja
with an occupational safety level II, which signifies that the company is ‘Approaching the World’s Forefront
of Safety’. The criteria for this classification level include accident frequency and accident severity.
“Our primary investment is in the well-being of our personnel.
Our efforts to prevent accidents ensure that the quality
of our work remains high and our timetables rock-solid.
We are constantly competing against ourselves to achieve
better results,” states
MIKKO TAMMIHOVI
, Area Director at
Telinekataja.
Telinekataja also adapts its safety equipment to be better
suited to its own field. Lighter helmets, stronger harnesses
and top-quality equipment make each work process safer.
Working toward a single objective
The idea of zero accidents may sound impossible in a field
where employees are working high up in scaffolding at the
mercy of weather conditions.
“Telinekataja works with exacting customers, so a high
level of occupational safety must be assured. The efforts
of the entire personnel are necessary to achieve such an
objective,” emphasises
MIKA LIUHAMO
, Senior Expert at the
Finnish Institute of Occupational Health.
Telinekataja has faced up to this challenge. “We intend
to continue developing our safety procedures even further.”
